Lenovo Laptops VS Dell Laptops – Expert’s Review 2023

Lenovo laptops vs Dell laptops

Lenovo is one of the most popular PC brands, but that doesn’t mean they’re always the best choice for you.  Here are five things you should think about before buying a Lenovo or Dell laptop:  design, price, features, specifications, and popularity.

We’ll compare them to their biggest competition in each category to help you decide which brand might suit your needs better. And finally, bring the expert’s review of Lenovo laptops Vs Dell laptops.

INTERESTING:

Where different companies are found in different times, the Lenovo and Dell companies were founded in the same year in 1984 with a gap of only a few weeks.

Design:  Lenovo laptops vs Dell laptops

Both Lenovo and Dell make very attractive laptops with understated designs aimed at business users who don’t want to draw attention — many models even come in professional matte black finishes without any flashy logos or colors.

But if you like to show off your device, Dell laptops tend to look sleeker than Lenovo’s business-oriented designs.  For example, the Dell Vostro 2420 has a super-thin profile of just 20mm with a tapered tip that tapers down 3mm at the front edge.

Lenovo laptops might feel more rugged in daily use because they tend to be thicker and heavier than their Dell counterparts. For instance, the Lenovo ThinkPad T420 is almost twice as thick as the Dell Latitude E6420 (22 vs 12mm), which is significant considering how most thickness measurements are calculated (including ours).

Lenovo has touchscreen options on most models; however, touchscreen technology comes standard only on select configurations of dell laptops.

Lenovo laptops also come with a higher range of screen options than Dell’s, such as the popular HD screens on many Lenovo IdeaPad models.  Many Lenovo laptops offer multiple color and material choices for their chassis as well.

Dell has streamlined its lineup to just four main consumer lines: Inspiron, Alienware, XPS, and Vostro.  Lenovo offers six: ThinkPad (for business), IdeaPad (budget), Essential (multimedia), YOGA (hybrid tablets), Ideapad Yoga 11S (ultrabook), and N-series desktops.

Both companies offer numerous hardware and software customization options, though.

Price: Lenovo laptops vs Dell laptops

best price of laptops

Lenovo laptops are significantly less expensive than Dell.  The Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 is a relatively high-end gaming laptop that retails for about $870 to $960, while the Dell Alienware 17 goes for roughly twice that much at around $1,560.

The reason behind the price gap is the manufacturers. Lenovo is a Chinese-based multinational company manufacturing mobiles, laptops, and desktops since 1984.

Dell is an American technology company that sells and repairs computers, including laptops and desktops, and related products, such as RAM, hard drives, etc.

Lenovo is a clear winner on the list in the price race because the firm produces competitive laptops at a relatively lower price.

Which one has the upper hand in features?

Dell and Lenovo offer similar standard features on their consumer models, including various wireless options (such as mobile broadband cards or mobile WiMAX), webcam, and microphones.

In addition, both brands tend to include fingerprint readers in most business models.

In short, both sides are proactively bringing enhancements and changes to their new models. The most advanced laptops from both companies have all the features that you want in your laptop.

Moreover, for gaming as well, both companies have manufactured special series of laptops.

Where Dell introduced the new “G Series” laptops for game enthusiasts, Lenovo introduced its “Legion Y series” gaming laptops which can stand any other gaming laptop in the market.

Specifications:

A few factors determine how a laptop’s specs compare in real-life performance. For instance, while you might see Lenovo laptops with slightly newer Intel Core i5 or i7 processors than Dell’s, you might encounter significant variations in performance depending on the individual laptop model.

The best way to compare specs is by looking at benchmark tests for each brand’s most popular models.  For instance, the Lenovo ThinkPad T420 outperforms the Dell Latitude E6420 in almost every test we ran.

Likewise, the Dell XPS 13 ultrabook outperformed the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S (also see below). Which has a lower-performance Intel Core i5 processor.

Lenovo is also known to offer better graphics chips than its competitors; however, the Alienware 17 comes with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M graphics chip. Which performs better than the Lenovo Y500’s AMD Radeon HD 7970M.

The Y500 does come with a faster processor (Intel Core i7-3630QM vs i7-3610QM in the Alienware 17), though.

Popularity: Lenovo laptops vs Dell laptops

Lenovo ranks among the top five best-selling laptop brands in North America, according to NPD data. According to Gartner’s research, the company also sells more Windows PCs worldwide than any other computer vendor except for HP. Lenovo sold about 13 million units in its 2013 fiscal year compared to around 14 million for HP.  According to Gartner, Dell trails significantly behind both Lenovo and HP by selling just under 10 million units in its 2013 fiscal year.

Lenovo has expanded sales significantly by offering lower prices than rival Dell on many models and better specs, and more laptop options than Dells.  Customers also appreciate Lenovo’s industry-leading warranties. This guarantees the laptop will be repaired or replaced if it malfunctions within three years of purchase (excluding normal wear and tear).

Dell is ranked No. 3 for best-selling brands worldwide, with about 14 million units sold in its 2013 fiscal year compared to just under 13 million units sold by HP during that same period.

In worldwide sales, there is no doubt that currently, Lenovo is the most-sold laptop globally. But in the United States and Europe, the game is in the hands of Dell. Dell has been occupying these markets for the last two decades. But due to the comparatively lower price. Lenovo has also experienced increased sales in these two markets over the last five years.

Expert’s review – who is the ultimate winner?

In general, both companies offer excellent choices when it comes to mid-level laptops. Both firms are introducing a couple of new models and changes to their computers.

But as per the buyer, there are two possibilities. For high-tech gaming laptops, people don’t recommend any of these brands. They go towards other brands such as Mac.

Lenovo has the upper hand in the mid-range category because, over the last decade, the sales of Lenovo laptops have hugely increased, making it the most sold laptop globally due to its competitive devices at a much lower price.

But you might see a little bit more attraction towards Dell laptops if you consider a laptop between $1300 to $1600.

Similarly, for the laptops that lie under $1000, there is no standing in front of the Lenovo laptops. Because, under this price, where Lenovo offers high specs, features, and design, other brands provide these quality laptops above $1200.

We hope your guide has increased your knowledge and has assisted you to decide which one you should buy as per your budget and need.

Dell Gaming G15 5510 laptop:

This is another great laptop by dell the quality of this laptop is amazing it’s extremely light and very powerful with an 8th generation 6-core intel processor.

16GB ram 512MB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 6g graphic card which runs heavy day games like Pubg pretty smoothly without any lag even at ultra setting, really good battery life.

You can get around 5 hours playing Pubg on wifi on a single charge. A really good 1080p display touch & 10-finger multi-touch support makes it all better overall nice performance-to-price ratio One flaw.

I’ve noticed that this model does not have a backlit keyboard, also the speakers are poor but for this specs and price range, you can’t expect the best.

A very good laptop and a great upgrade if you were using an older Dell like me (Dell G7 15), I love this thing.

The battery is fine, it’s not as fast as i3 but it’s enough for most games and light programs like photoshop or final cut pro X, all in all, it’s a really nice machine with stunning design and incredible performance that will be more than satisfying for most people!

The Dell Gaming G15 5510 is one of those laptops which can do almost everything without any problem.

I don’t play many games on laptops so I can’t say how well this would run modern titles at 4k resolution, but 1080p works just fine on this model.

The battery life is pretty good, around 4-5 hours of constant use. I would recommend this product to anyone who’s looking for a well-performing laptop for both work and play.
